West Coast by Studio

The first and only album by Gothenburg duo Studio (Dan Lissvik and Rasmus Hägg) released on their own label, Information. They hade just left the rather legendary Swedish indie label Service that was co-founded by Studios Dan Lissvik in they very late nighties.

At the time of its original release in 2006, ”West Coast” was only made available in very limited numbers, most of them exported to specialist dance music shops across the UK.

Their long – very, very long! – laid back balearic grooves were seen, by most, as something of an anomaly. Studio quietly split up right after their sole album. But its influence has grown for each year that has passed since.

By the time of last years re-release on different formats and on streaming services, a never ending stream of younger international bands, DJs and dedicated balearic silver backs now all swear by it as a – maybe even the – Mediterranean post-club sunset classic.
